PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The CHW trainee, a non-benefited 6-month position, is headquartered in San Leandro, CA and will work under the direction of the Health Coach Program Director. The trainee is eligible to enroll in community college courses offered at Chabot College to obtain a Community Health Worker certificate. The community college courses are available at no coast at the trainee. Trainees will have 18 months to complete the CHW coursework.
As a health coach, you will be required to commit 20 hours per week. You are eligible for 5 sicks and 3 vacation days during the duration of the program. All schedule changes must be communicated with program staff.
During the duration of the program, health coaches will be compensated $1,800 per month.
As a health coach, this position is not eligible for benefits.
Important: Trainees are encouraged to enroll in coursework at Chabot College to obtain a certification as a Community Health Worker (CHW). The Health Coach Program will cover the required fees. The courses are encouraged but not required.
